It has been seven years now, however I can remember this day as if it was just yesterday. It was getting close to the end of my shift at the hotel I was working at the time. between checking customers out, and making sure the breakfast bar was stocked I heard the announcers on CNN talk about a plane crashing in to the World Trade Center. I stopped and watched the coverage for a moment, it was then they were shoing live footage and I watched the second plane crash in to the South tower. I stared at the tv in disbelief and anger. My shift ended and I had to leave to get to class. As I arrived at school I went into the break room to continue to watch the coverage. I tried as best as I could to continue with my day. I was involved in a deep debate with my self on which actions to take.
You see I was in college after serving 13 years in the United States Navy. I left the service to persue the career I am in now. On that day and days following I was debating to continue down the path I was on, or return to the Navy. I was leaning toward returning to service, however with discussions with my family I decided to stick with this path. I do not regret making this choice now, as it has lead to some great moments and continues to be great personal life, and I would not trade that for anything.
So now I sit on the sidelines giving the best support I can to our government and most emportantly our military. So please join me in our continued support for the troops, and support the missions that our Commander in Chief orders them to do, regardless of your personal thought.
